Neutral Decor

My husband is out doing a little grocery shopping (yes!)...so I thought I'd post a quickie with some inspiration.  Lately I've been trying to define my design style.  According to the HGTV quiz, it's "Romantic".  I went to the library last week and brought home a dozen decorating books.  Well from that, my style seems to be a mix of Modern Country, Thrifty Chic, Well-Worn, Cottagey, & Southern.  According to the new issue of Real Simple, my style is a cross of Casual Chic and Vintage Eclectic.  I still don't really know what to call my taste, but what I do know is that I love me some neutral decor.  I love color, don't get me wrong, but neutral is so relaxing.  I love being able to go shopping and not have to worry if something fits in with my color scheme.  Here are a few "Neutral" Rooms courtesy of BHG.

A little bit of a sneak peek...

If you've read some of my blog posts, you know that my husband and I have been rehabbing an old 1925 house.  I found this before shot of 1/2 of my living room so I thought I'd snap a photo of what it looks like right now.

Here are some other little areas around my house that make me happy:

We still have a TON of work to do, but it's starting to feel like home.

I had an Etsy Christmas, how 'bout you?

I got so many good things from Etsy this year.  My best friend got me these earrings from krisybird

And this sign from oldecountrycupboard

My mom got me this sign (the quote is from Twilight) from thehomespunraven

And my gramma got me this darling little necklace which has become my favorite!  Purchased from onelifejewelry

What else could a girl ask for?  Okay, chocolate covered cherries and new boots.  But I didn't get those from Etsy.

P.S. My gramma was so excited that she got a personal thank you from onelifejewelry...the etsy world is new to her!

Is it spring yet?

I don't know about all of you, but I am ready for garage sale season!  These photos make me long for the days of driving around with an iced coffee and my Magellan.

Unfortunately, according to the forecast we are due for snow.  A cruel reminder that winter has just begun.

Here are some of my favorites I picked up last season.  2009 was the year of the Ball jar.
